Brief Description: Fitting EFIS to Instrument Panel
The challenge with installing this EFIS is getting it far enough over the the left side. The hieght of the unit fits on the anal in the centre but the panel wraps around towrads the side. So the left hand corner utilises the complete hieght of the panel. Centre ended up being in line with centre button of the right hand key pad. Pilot eye line is abour 40mm in from the left edge of the screen. Turns out that the standard screen layout (screens fully customisable) have the attitude indicator on that side so it site right in front of you map display to the right.
On the iPad I plan to run OzRunway for navigation and flight planning. The EFIS has these functions but they are not as easy to use and updating the RFIS with current data is significantly more complex. OzRunway does it all automatically and is approved by CASA.
Next I want to get a pivoting holder for the iPad.
