Brief Description:  Vertical Stabilizer

Well... you eventually have to deal with what you put off! I wasn't sure what to do with the fin, or cap on top of the stabilizer and rudder. The manual is very unclear, and there are no pictures of the install :-(((( The manual intends for the "petals" to first be trimmed to fit, then riveted on the top rib, the the cap is placed, and the holes are drilled. But how in the world do you figure out how to drill the plastic cap in line with the predrilled holes in the angled "petal?" !!! What a mess!!

Fortunately there is a large online builder community in Australia, Mark Kyle has an excellent builders log on recreationalflying.com. His method is MUCH easier and gives a MUCH better result. Simply cut some sheet to slip under the top of the skin and protrude above about 1" then all that is needed is to hold the cap in the desired postition and drill a clean hole through the plastic and into the extension piece, and VIOLA, its just about perfect :-)
