I'm committed now !!! After using the yardsticks to determine the flow lines, I cut out the offending "flare" in the fiberglass nose bowl. This stock nose bowl is supplied by the Corvair folks and is an excellent product. However, as the previous pictures illustrate, it is too wide for the narrow Savannah nose. In fact, the Savannah tapers so much at the firewall that it actually has similiar dimension to a single or tandem seat design. That would make it more sleek I suppose if you had the diabolical Rotax installed ;-)))) So... I cut the rounded sides off in favor of fiberglassing a flatter side that will transition to the flattened side with rounded corners of the Savannah fuselage. No where to go but up now!
