I managed to find a good chunk of time to make some real progress on the second wing (left wing). I've got the top and bottom skins attached and riveted in place. I learned how to set rivnuts! This new process allowed me to attach the removable inspection panels that allow direct access to the only fuel connections hidden in the wing... Great plan for long term maintenance or repair. I can't help but be excited as the only structure left to complete is the fuselage!!
I realize that it is the largest and most complext part, but it's pretty exciting to see the crate closer to empty and the garage crowded with completed, genuine aircraft parts :-) All that will be left is empennage, cockpit, doors, controls, rigging, instrument panel, wiring, motor mount, engine install, plumbing, cowling, propeller, etc !!!! Like they say, when you're 90% done you only have 90% more to go....
