After consulting the online Sonex Groups the following modification was made. Instead of sandwiching the tail tip between the skin and upper rib, a 0.063" mounting strip (1" wide) was sandwiched between the two. This piece extends 1/2" above the top of the tail skin. The fiberglass tip will be mounted to the added aluminum piece. The fiberglass tail tip needs some additional prep work.
