Brief Description: Completed mounting Vertical Stabilizer and Rudder
In order to get the Vertical stabilizer to sit correctly, a small portion of the leading edge skin had to be filed down. Once everything was fitting correctly, the three holes in the forward horn were drilled. The Vertical Stab. was removed and all holes were deburred and then three plate nuts were installed. The Vertical Stab. was re-installed and all attaching bolts were intalled and torqued to the correct value. Finally the skid plate weld-mount was installed and the bolts were torqued to the correct value. Next the rudder was installed. The lower hinge had to be riveted in place, which is was.
