Pic1 Installed oil galley plugs in front crank case halfs after cleaning with a gun cleaning brush. Check all oil passages in case and crank, trust nothing!
Pic2 crank case bolted together and torqued to 50 ft pounds per Corvair green shop manual's torque pattern in 5 ftlb increments. Next I installed fuel pump eccentric,spacer,dist gear, and oil slinger. The oil slinger is held in place by the harmonic balancer to be installed after painting engine case.
Pic3 shows the installation of the 5th bearing assembly. The orange/red tape is .001 gage strips taped in place to mantain proper bearing clearance while installing/drilling the dowl pins into the case.
