Brief Description:  CANOPY FIT TO FUSELAGE

With canopy postioned in skirt back on work bench, screwed back to 2x4, I layed out cleco (screw holes) every 6" starting from the center back location of canopy skirt. Drilled 1/8" and cleco as you go.

Test fit to fuselage canopy touching boot cowl in the front. Removed and trimmed another 1/4" from the front on canopy. The next test fit was almost perfect.

If I did this over I would not drill the front 4 cleco holes until canopy was on fuselage so if you need to adjust skirt in the front a little. I redrilled mine but think when I open holes for #6 screws it will take the extra hole up.

The next thing I did once satifed with canopy and skirt fit was to remove canopy from skirt and trim the canopy again 1/2" past cleco holes. Then sand edges of canopy with 80,150,220 grid paper. Sanded inside of canopy skirt down and filled any places needed to prep for paint.

Reinstalled canopy into skirt and undrilled to 5/32" for #6 screws to be installed once canopy is glued in with 3M 5200 (black).
