after closing skins cured the spars where trimed with a flush trim bit and layed out for bushings . The straps were all finished by CNC at the local machine shop and are very accurate . The staps and holes line up perfectly to my layout per the plans and manual.
The spars both averaged a thickness of 1.770 - 1.780 . I tested my spade bit operation for the final sizing of the bushing bore. A fresh 5/8 spade made a clean slip fit for the bushing in a test block of spruce - after several test the spade was shaved down to .605 dia for a final bore size. The bushigs where then final sized to 1.720 lenght and pressed just below the web surface .
