A prototype fuel tank bracket was waterjetted and TIG welded for trial fit on the new fuel tanks. The bracket worked well, but I did not like the asthetics of the bracket and felt it was a little heavy so I decided to mill out an aluminum bracket on my CNC Bridgemill machine. At the end of the day I think the aluminum bracket will be better. It is cleaner and before completiong the weight of the new bracket was 56 grams compared to the 82 gram chrome molly bracket. The weight should be even less once it is completed.
