Brief Description: Finished riveting side and bottom skins (10-20)
I got my helper back, but was unable to coordinate a time to work on the Emp. Finally on Friday we attacked the remainder of the sides and bottom skins. Mostly the corners. I held the bucking bar and Cyndi ran the gun. I think we have a system that seems to be working. We got the bell crank ribs riveted to the bottom skin, but I’m struggling to rivet the end pieces to the F-1007 bulkhead. Two have easy access to buck, but the one closest to the bottom skin I can’t find a way. I tired the offset bar, but I’m thinking I need to change the direction with the manufactured head to be on the fwd side. I’ll see if that works, then I may or may not drill out the others to be consistent…not because it matters, but it will continue to bother me that they’re not all matching.
