Brief Description: Finished rivet with special bucking bar (9-12)
For this next step I needed to rivet the rib halves together with LP4-3 blind rivets. Normally not a big deal, except this is between the skins and pretty deep, so not much space to work. I attached some plastic pipes to the handles of my small Pop-Rivet tool with some duct tape and that worked out great. If I took a couple of small squeezes, then the last squeeze was just right at the end. It’s a lot easier to control when the stem breaks right at the end of the stroke…otherwise it wants to jump. Anyway, this worked out really well. Ribs all tied together, now onto the fwd spar.
