Brief Description:  Roll leading edge of Rudder2 (7-11)

Well after about 3 months of various non build related activities I found some time to get back to working on the -10. The -12 took me on a smooth ride in and out of Oshkosh (which was fantastic this year), My son got married, made a flight down to Georgia and even gave rides to some youth over at Butler County Airport. At Oshkosh, I did manage to talk to a few RV-10 builders about what they did and how they liked it. I’m really liking the EFII set up, but that’s a long way off. For now, I’m just focusing on finishing up the emp and getting ready for the wings, which I assume will be delayed from the Sept kit date. Rolling wasn’t too bad this time. Before I rolled the leading edge, I picked the edge I wanted on the outside of the overlap and ran the roller on it to give it a little tighter seam. I also made sure not to roll the inside (underneath side as much so it wouldn’t tend to hang down. Instead, it made a nice tight seam on the underside, which is what I wanted. The rivets don’t seem to do a great job of pulling the skins together. For rolling I used the same PVC pipe from before with the holes already drilled. I clecoed and taped the edge to the PVC and used a vice grip to rotate it as much as possible. After rolling I clecoed everything together and final sized the holes, deburred and put it all back together. I used the electric puller to set the rivets, which worked out nicely. Now starting on the counterweight.
