Brief Description:  Rudder 2 trail edge rivets and prim HS spar hardwa

This past week spent some time finishing up the trail edge rivets and spar for the rudder. For the trail edge I did the initial set with the Cleveland squeezer tool. I started with a light squeeze on all the rivets, then came back with a medium squeeze then an almost final squeeze. This is as far as I wanted to go with the squeezer. I ended up denting rudder 1 by going too far. Then I final set all the rivets with mushroom head on the shop end and backing plate on the factory end. This part came out real nice, and the trail edge looks nice and straight, except for the very edge. The material between the line of rivets and the trail edge opened up in some areas, so now I see a little bit of wave in spots. When I put it together, I tried to keep the pro-seal really thin, since I thought I did it too thick last time…now I think I went too thin. If I were to do it again (which I’m not), I think I would try the double sides tape. I’m probably being too picky, but I think I like my first rudder better now…anyway I will continue. The part that caused me issues on the rudder 1 was the rivets I had to buck on the lower portion of the skin to spar rivets. This time I used the 4” squeezer yoke and they came out great. No dents this time.
For the HS I went ahead and primed the main spar, doublers and stiffener caps, since the next step has me start riveting it together.
