While waiting on some more parts for rudder 2, I proceeded to work ahead and fabricate the brackets. Its hard to believe that these two brackets, mounted so close together will support the 10 ft wide horizontal stabilizer. Anyway, I sure wish I had a band saw now…these took forever. I even did some research on tabletop band saws…all very expensive for the limited use. I’ve gotten by so far through a RV-12 build and now starting a RV-10 without it…why stop now. I started with the Dremel, but that was eating up cutoff disks too fast, so I switch to the hacksaw for the rough cuts and then the sander to take it down to the lines. Anyway, I’m happy with how they turned out. I used the drill press for the holes and made sure the 1/8” holes were identical on both brackets.
