Brief Description: Match drill and dimple elevator stiffeners
With the elevator stiffeners cut and edge deburred, I was now ready to cleco the stiffeners to the elevator skins and match drill the holes to #40. I used the same method as with the rudder skins by laying the skins on a sheet of mdf and lay the stiffeners out on the skin. I then would drill through the stiffener and skin into the mdf and place a cleco. Next I drilled the other end of the stiffener and placed a cleco. One more cleco in the middle would keep the stiffener straight while I drilled the remaining holes. Once I had one side of the skin done, I flipped it over and match drilled the opposite surface. With both skins and stiffeners match drilled, I deburred all the holes and proceeded to dimple the stiffeners and skins for AN426AD3 rivets.
