Brief Description: Riveting HS skin to forward spar and ribs
I started on the left skin first by laying it down on a piece of carpet with the skin top up. I clecoed rib HS-707 to the top side of the skin. I used a piece of duct tape to hold the back of the skin down toward the table to help it bow to the shape of the rib. I used my tungsten bucking bar and my Sioux 3x rivet gun set to 34psi to set the AN426AD3-3.5 rivets. I kept my rivet gauge handy to check the bucked rivets. I next clecoed the end rib HS-706 to the skin and temporarily clecoed HS-708 to the skin and aft flange of HS-707 to help hold the skin tight so that I could rivet the bottom skin to the HS-707 rib. I removed HS-708 after the HS-707 was riveted. I clecoed the forward spar assembly to the skin and the ribs HS-706, HS-707 and HS-708. I blind riveted HS-707 and HS-708 to the forward spar HS-702 using cherry max rivets instead of the LP4-3 pop rivets that Van's calls for. I riveted the end rib HS-706 to the forward spar HS-702 using AN470AD4-4 rivets. I lastly riveted the skin to the forward spar HS-702 and rib HS-708. I will wait til tomorrow to start the right skin.
