Brief Description: Sprayed Zinc Chromate to HS skins inside
I had a decent day to spray zinc chromate to the inside of the horizontal stabilizer skins. I prepped the skins by first cleaning any oil using lacquer thinner. I then used a scotch brite pad to scuff the surface. Lastly I used the zinc chromate reducer to final clean before spraying. I bought the zinc chromate from Aircraft Spruce and followed the mixing and safety instructions. I set the skins up outside and used my hvlp sprayer. The skins only took a few minutes to spray, but the gun cleanup took me about half an hour. Next week I will start the assembly.
