Brief Description:  Relocate the Garmin Navigator Tray

The GTN 750 navigator created a bit of a problem being a tight fit in the center stack. I could not get the GMA 350 audio panel connectors to reach the back due to the audio panel being underneath the GTN 750. Only solution was to replace the GTN 750 with a Garmin GTN 650xi. This would allow the audio panel to sit above the the navigator and now the harness reaches. I removed the GTN750 and GMA350 trays. I temporarily attached the panel to the airframe so I could mockup the new location of both trays. It worked best to leave a 1" gap between the top of the GTN 650xi tray and the top of the cutout in the sub-panel. This would allow the wiring harness connectors for the GMA350 audio panel to slip through the gap. I drilled holes in the center stack rail for both trays new location. Deburred the holes and installed both trays with the existing hardware. To support the wiring harness for the audio panel I cut a 9" piece of 0.062 x 3/4" x 3/4" angle aluminum stock. I located the angle flush with the top of the sub-pane and marked the location for 5 AN470AD4-5 rivets. The angle would give me a support to attach a couple of adel clamps to support the audio panel wiring harness. I match drilled the 5 #30 holes through the angle and sub-panel. Deburred the holes and called it a day.
