The Garmin GDL 50R ADS-B IN receiver has to be mounted fairly level with the arrow pointing forward. I found a location between the sub-panel and the firewall just to the right of the center line and between the F-7108A and F-7107-R forward fuselage ribs. I cut 4 pieces of 0.032 x 3/4 x 3/4 aluminum angle stock to fit between the ribs. The 2 short 5 1/4" angles I located to each rib and marked for 4 #40 rivet holes. I drilled the 4 holes in each angle and deburred the holes. I marked each rib and drilled the 4 #40 holes in each. With the angles clecoed to each rib I measured and cut the other 2 angles to 9" and laid them across the 2 ribs on top of the clecoed angles. I marked for #30 rivets holes and also marked the 6 holes to anchor the GDL 50R. I drilled all 10 holes and deburred all the holes. I cleaned and primed the 4 angles and proceeded to rivet the short angles to each rib using MS20470AD3-4 rivets. Next I riveted the 2 long angles to the 2 short angles using 624-LP4-3 pop rivets. Last I installed 6 7/16" x 7/16" shock mounts with 6-32 nuts and washers.
