Brief Description: Comm 2 remote mounting brackets
Following the location diagram from Stein Air for the Garmin avionics and wiring harness connector location I found a spot to mount the Garmin GTR 20 remote comm 2 box between the sub-panel and the firewall. I cut 3 pieces of 0.063 x 3/4 x 3/4 aluminum angle. I clamped the 2 longer angles to the firewall angle 5 1/4" apart. I marked a hole location in each angle for AN470 rivets. ONce the holes were drilled, I match drilled the angles to the firewall. With the angles clecoed to the firewall, I located the short angle to the sub-panel to support the longer angles. I marked and drilled 4 #30 holes for AN470 rivets. I match drilled to the sub-panel. I clecoed the angle to the sub-panel and match drilled 2 holes through the long angles and the short angle. I deburred, primed and riveted the angles to the airframe. I located the holes for the Comm 2 radio and drilled 4 holes for #8 screws.
