Brief Description:  Install Battery Box and Contactor Bus Bar

With the battery contactors in place I bolted the battery box to the firewall with 4 AN4-4A and 2 AN4-3A bolts and AN960-10 washers. I had earlier ordered a 1 foot length of copper bar stock 1/2" wide x .125" thick. This bar would transfer 12 VDC power from the battery contactor to the starter contactor. First I marked and drilled a 5/16" hole on one end. I used a piece of .032 aluminum to make a template of the bus bar with a 90 degree bend. I transferred the measurements to the copper bar. I used a couple of pieces of flat aluminum and a 5/16" drill bit and clamped the bar into my vise. I used a rubber mallet to bend the bar 90 degrees around the drill bit. I measured and cut the bus bar to final length and deburred the ends. Last I marked and drilled the last stud hole to 5/16". I slid a piece of shrink tubing over the bus bar and installed the bar to both contactors hand tight.
