I had started on the F-7127C retainer strap for the battery last week. Now I continued by drilling the 6 3/4" lightening holes evenly spaced using a hole saw on my drill press. I also marked and drilled the 2 #12 holes for the AN3 bolts that will hold the strap to the box. I deburred all the holes and went on to marking and drilling the holes for K1000-3 nutplates in the 2 F-7127A battery tray side angles that the strap would bolt to. I deburred all the parts and cleaned with Dawn detergent in preparation of priming and painting. The battery box and strap I sprayed with self etching black satin paint. The 2 side angles I sprayed with aluminum paint. I hung the parts to dry in the sun. Tomorrow I will rivet the battery box together.
