Brief Description:  Rivet Aileron Hinge Brackets

The primed aileron hinge brackets had dried overnight and I was ready to rivet the brackets together. Some of the rivets are AN426AD4 so I had to countersink the correct rivet holes as specified in the sub-kit drawing. The rest of the rivets are AN470AD4 rivets. I started with the two outboard brackets, inserted the bearings and clecoed the assembly together. Using my pneumatic squeezer I started with the AN426AD4 rivets and finished with the AN470AD4 rivets. I had to back rivet 6 rivets because the squeezer would not fit. After all four brackets were riveted, I took the two outboard brackets and clecoed them to the wing aft spar and match drilled the rivet holes to #30. I removed the brackets and deburred the holes. I had to countersink one hole on each bracket as called for on DWG 10A. I reinstalled the brackets and using my rivet squeezer, I was able to squeeze 4 rivets on each outboard bracket. My No. 3 rivet gun was not powerful enough to buck the remaining rivets, so I will have to wait until my No. 4 rivet gun arrives.
