Brief Description:  Trim Rear Wing Spar and mark Wing Root Fairing

I am getting close to installing the wings and setting the incidence angle, but I need to do a few things to make the fit run smoothly. First I need to mark the bottom wing skin W-704 for the platenuts that hold the wing root fairing in place. I do this by marking the hole locations and then transferring the location out 3 inches toward the wing tip. This is done so you have a reference when the wings are installed as to where the holes need to be drilled through the overlapping F-776 fusalage skin. Then all you do is transfer the location marks back toward the wing root 3 inches and you have the hole location for the platenut screws. Next I need to trim the ends of the rear wing spar according to DWG 38. The rear spar trim detail is full scale, so I just made a copy on my scanner and printed 2 copies. I trimmed the prints and cut holes for the rivet locations for an alignment reference. I laid the template on the rear spar and marked the area to be trimmed. I used my pneumatic cutoff wheel to trim the spar and a couple of files to finish fit the spar tab. I will do the right wing another day.
