Sanded the layup on the lower cowling using a hand held belt sander with 80 grit paper to remove the larger of the uneven spots. Filled low spots with 3M filler (bondo). Sanded the filler and filled the small low spots agian. Did it again... Covered the lower cowl with one layer of 6 oz fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin.
