Brief Description: Ellevator Control Cables Installed
Ran the up elevator cables through the tail section to the stick assembly. Routed the turnbuckle ends through the stick assembly, around the front end pulleys and connected both cables to the stick tabs with the turnbuckle pins with cotter pins. Routed the down-elevator cables through the tail, the control stick aft pulleys and connected the thimbles to the stick tabs with small steel clevises. At the elevator control arms installed a steel clevis in each of the up- arms. Put a cable thimble through each clevis and routed a control cable through the thimble after putting a cable crimp on the cable. Put a temporary clamp on each of the up-control cables.
On the down control arms on the elevator installed a turnbuckle in each arm. Removed the cable end of the turnbuckle and installed a thimble in its eye. Ran the down- control cable through the thimble on the turnbuckles end. Clamped the elevator in the level position. Adjusted the control cables so that the stick was vertical in the cockpit. Completed the crimping of the control cables and checked the cable tension. Adjusted the turnbuckles to tension the control cables. Completed cutting the excess cable ends from the control cables and completing the forth crimp on each cable end.
