Brief Description:  Installing Fabric Tape to the Fuselage

Ironed down the front edge of the top fabric on to the back of the cockpit. Applied glue to alternate spaces across the fabric on the back of the cockpit. Left it to dry.

Glued the 3 inch tape to the right edge of the top fabric starting at the tail at the up elevator cable fairing. Laid the tape over the top of the fairing and continued down the fuselage to the turtleback shield. Cut the tape at the edge of the underlying shield and applied the remainder at the edge of the shield. Measured off the length of the right lower longeron up to the wing fairing on the 3 inch tape and cut the segment off. Marked the center line of the tape. Laid a strip of 1 1/2 inch wide glue along the bottom of the right side fuselage up to the start of the wing fairing. Attached the tape to the side of the fuselage leaving half of the tape hanging down from the fuselage. Set under the fuselage and applied glue along the bottom of the right side of the bottom fabric. Pulled the tape around the longeron and glued it in place. Repeated the same process for the left side of the fuselage. Used the small iron set to about 300 degrees and ironed each tape to set both sides. Ironed the front edge of the top fabric along the back of the cockpit. Cut a length of 2 inch tape which would fit across the back of the cockpit. Glued the tape across the front of the turtleback and down the back of the cockpit. Glued a segment of 2 inch tape along the rudder post using up the last of the glue. End of day.
