Brief Description: Completed Configuration of Left Brake Caliper
Plug the portable light in and lit up the caliper and stator. Used a 1/4 inch allen wrench to adjust the pads to the center of the caliper. Tested the fit on the stator and adjusted as required for a good fit and centered in the caliper. Bolted the caliper back on the mounting bracket and positioned the caliper back on the stator for a test fit. Determined the amount of spacers needed to complete the mounting to the axle bracket. Used a 1 1/4 inch hole saw to cut four washers from a scrap of .028 aluminum. Filed the edges smooth and drilled the center holes to 3/8 inches. Installed the top bolt with five washers into the bracket on the axle. Slid the caliper bracket down and back to align with the bottom holes. Slid the bolt through the axle bracket and four washers and through the caliper bracket. Installed a self-locking nut on the bolt which had been treated with anti-seize grease. Tighten both bolts firmly. Tested the rotation of the wheel and the drag from the brakes which pass the test.
