Brief Description: Complete the Installation of the Oil Filler
Clamped the oil filler into the forward fuselage cover ensuring that it was positioned correctly in the opening. Drilled a 3/16 inch hole top center on the rim of the oil filler and through the forward fuselage cover. Removed the filler and installed a 1032 anchor nut on the drilled hole. Placed the filler back into the fuselage cover and bolted it in place. Again checked the position of the filler in the opening to ensure correct positioning. Clamped the filler in place and then drilled a second 3/16 inch hole. Removed the filler from the cover and then installed a second 1032 anchor nut in the drilled hole. Mounted the filler back into the cover and secured it in place with two 1032 bolts. Drilled the remaining three 3/16 inch holes around the rim of the filler. Removed the filler from the cover and deburred each of the drilled holes. Installed the remaining three 1032 anchor nuts on the drilled holes. Set the cover aside until it is time to paint it.
Placed the forward side panels in place on the fuselage. Used a pencil to mark out the possible patterns for the camo paint to be applied to each side of the fuselage.
