Brief Description: Oil Filler Hole in Forward Cover and ADS-B Antenna
Used a vacuum sweeper to clean up the bottom of the fuselage. Washed down the area marked on the bottom fabric where the antenna plate is to be glued in place. Applied a coat of glue to the area and to the back of the antenna plate. Laid the plate on the glued area and left it to dry.
Rechecked the location for the installation of the oil filler assembly to ensure it cleared everything behind the instrument panel. Marked an outline on the top of the forward fuselage cover at the location where the filler will clear any structure below. Moved the cover to the work bench and divided the circle in half and then half again forming an X in the center. Clamped a piece of scrap lumber under the X to support the 3 inch hole saw. Carefully drilled the 3 inch hole center on the X in the forward fuselage cover. Sanded the edges of the hole to remove any burrs. Used a flaring tool to flair the edge of the hole down into the fuselage. Tested the fit of the oil filler and found a good fit. Placed the forward fuselage cover in place and inserted the oil filler assembly to test the clearance and fit. Found that everything fit well. The screws to hold the assembly in place will be installed during the next work day.
