Brief Description: Floor Foot Channels and Instrument Panel
Cut two tabs from 1/2 by 1/8 steel strap and ground the edges smooth. Tig welded the tabs to the fuselage cross member behind the firewall at the anchor locations for the rudder bar support bracket. Curved the floor pans using the shrink tool on the edge lips. Worked the pans to arrive at a curve that fit the fuselage curvature. Drilled a 3/16 inch hole through the fuselage taps and the floor pans. Mounted the rudder bar and floor pans to the fuselage using AN3 bolts.
Measured the outer curvature of each sides of the instrument panel. Cut 1 inch angles to fit each side of the instrument panel. Used the shrinking tool on one side of the angle to match the curvature of the instrument panel. Using 1/8 inch pop rivets attached the 1 inch angle along the curvature of the instrument panel with a rivet every 4 inches.
