Brief Description:  Finished Another Wing Gap Strip and Installed a Ey

Filed both edges of the cover strip to remove any burrs. Used a sanding block to go over the edges to smooth them out. Used the vice-grip edge tool to put a crease in both sides of the cover strip. Weighted the cover strip at 0.77 lbs which will be installed on the top right wing.

Removed the AN3 bolt holding the cable tabs on the left front center strut Removed the tab connected to the front cable and reinstalled the bolt holding the left side cable tab in place. Cut away the cable sleeve on the tab and removed it and the thimble. Installed the thimble into the eye bolt. Placed a new sleeve on the cable and ran it through the thimble and into the new sleeve holding it in place with the small vice-grips. Drilled a 3/16 inch hole through the left front strut about a 1/2 inch below the center wing fabric. Installed the eye bolt with the cable into the hole in the strut and secured it with a AN3 self-locking nut. Checked the length of the cable to insure a correct fit. Removed the eye bolt from the strut and then crimped the sleeve on the cable. Used the dremel to cut the small amount of excess cable away and then completed the final crimp on the cable. Installed the eye bolt back into the left strut and connected the cable turnbuckle on the lower right side of the strut.

Removed the right side cross cable from the strut. Cut away the sleeve on the turnbuckle end and installed a new correct sized sleeve. Cut the sleeve on the other end of the cable and installed the thimble into the eye bolt. Placed a new sleeve on the cable and ran it through the thimble on the eye bolt. Slid the cable end through the sleeve and secured it in place with the small vice-grips. The mounting of the eye bolt on the right side will be completed during the next work day.
