Brief Description: Installed Jam Nuts and Cut First Wing Gap Strip
Installed a 1/4 inch jam nut on each end of the aileron linkage rods for the left and right wings. Checked that the aileron alignment was still correct and then tighten each of the jam nuts.
Rolled out the aluminum flashing for about 135 inches. Clamped the 6 foot level/straight edge onto the aluminum leaving a 3 inch strip on the edge. Used a box cutter to score the aluminum three times along the straight edge. Moved the level to the other end of the flashing and again clamped the straight edge at a 3 inch strip. Scored the remaining length of the strip three times. Removed the clamps and moved the aluminum sheet so the score line was at the edge of the table. Gently flexed the aluminum on the score line until it separated at one end and then moved down the strip until it was freed from the main sheet. Set the strip aside for further work during the next work day.
