Brief Description: Continued Center Wing Construction and Engine Moun
Laid out a sheet of .020 aluminum around the center wing cutout and marked the top edge and end or the wing on the sheet. Cut out the insert and sanded all edges. Drilled 1/8 inch holes at the center of the sheet and cleoed in place. Continued drilling holes every 4 inches around both the top and bottom of the sheet. Installed 1/8 inch pop rivets in all drilled holes. Marked and cut out opening on both sides of the center line for hand holds. Added 1 inch angle bracing on the inside of the outer most wing ribs near the center of each rib. Attached each brace with 4 1/8 inch pop rivets, two each in the top and bottom ribs. Trimmed and sanded all edges of the braces.
Pulled the engine mount hardware from the crate and inspected the configuration of each mount. Laid out the components in the order assembled and photographed for reassembly. Removed the four weldments to be delivered to Airdrome Aeroplanes for the construction of the engine mount.
