Brief Description: Installed the Right Forward Wing Strut
Used a hand nibbler to cut a slot into the wing's leading edge to allow the strut to fit next to the spar. Used a grinding bit to smooth the cutout and shape the corners. Fit the sturt against the front spar. Drilled a 3/16 inch hole in the cross over pipe using the flange as a guide. Installed an AN 3 bolt in the strut after mounting the tie down bracket. Positioned the top of the forward strut up against the front spar. Drilled a 3/16 inch hole for the mounting bolt. Installed an AN 3 bolt in the top strut bracket. Drilled a second 3/16 inch hole in the cross brace using the tie down bracket as a template. Installed an AN 3 bolt in the bracket.
Mounted the aft strut on the cross brackets. Noted that the wood plugs did not fit the environment correctly. Noted and marked how they should fit. Will have to make at least one new wood block to correct the deficiencies.
Straighten the steel tabs on the four mounted on the struts.
