Removed and replaced one side flange on the top of the forward strut due to the figure eight center hole. Drilled a new 3/16 inch hole on the strut top below the fabric line for the bracing cable. Cut an oak plug for the top of the forward strut. Using a 1 1/8 inch hole saw cut a grove down the length of the plug. On the back side of the plug removed material to fit into the strut at the required angle. Did a test fitting and marked areas where additional material needed to be removed. Again removed the marked material and fitted the plug onto the strut. Fit appears good.
