Brief Description:  Aircraft Windscreen Development

Removed the mounting hardware from each end of the windscreen. Continued grinding on the grove in the top of the mount to support the windscreen. Checked the fit and deepen each end of the grove to better fit the windscreen. Took the windscreen to the polishing wheel on the bench and removed part of the bottom points of the windscreen. Tested fitted the windscreen and noted areas where more material needed to be removed. Got the fit close for the windscreen. Used a band saw to remove the excess material on the back side of the windscreen grove leaving 3/8 inches of material next to the grove.

Set the band saw table at a 10 degree angle and cut the bottom angle as marked from the template. This curve fits the front cover of the fuselage. Marked each of the ends for the removal of excess wood on the mount. Sanded the mount edges and sides to smooth out the wood and lighten the mount. Additional sanding will be needed and drilling to secure the windscreen to the mount.
