Removed the firewall and set it aside. Cut eight tabs from the 1/8 by 1/2 inch steel strap 3/4 inches long. Grind the edges smooth and round one end on each tab. Divide the vertical frame of the front of the fuselage into four equal segments. Tig well a tab at each segment mark on the right side aligned with the outside edge of the fuselage. Cut a triangle piece of 1/8 inch flat steel that fits into the bottom space between the vertical and cross pipes of the fuselage on both sides of the fuselage. Tig welded a triangle tab in place on the right side. Drill each of the tabs with the drill bit for the 1024 tap. Thread each tab for a 1024 screw. Note; you have to use a level of care and patience in threading the holes as the tap will break. After about the third broken tap I got closer to getting the hang of it.
