Measured and cut a segment of 1/2 inch steel tubing which spans across the fuselage at the location of the end of the turtle back. Cut each end of the tubing at a 40 degree angle. Cut two segments of 1/2 inch tubing 3 inches long. Cut one end of the 3 inch tubing at a 50 degree angle for both units. Tig welded each of the short segments to the ends of the long segment to form a wide mouthed C. Ground each end of the short segments to fit over the longerons at the end of the turtle back. Spot welded each of the end segments in place on the longerons and checked the measurements for correct location. Completed the tig welding of the aft frame to the fuselage. Marked off the spacing for the five tubes which form the top of the turtle back. Cut five 2 inch segments of 1/4 inch steel tubing Tig welded one of the 2 inch steel tubs at each marked location across the aft end of the turtle back.
