Brief Description: Forward Fuselage Cover Front Mounting Holes
Painted the lower instrument panel edge with three coats of black satin giving each coat at least 15 minutes to dry before the next coat was applied.
Installed the forward fuselage cover and positioned it over the existing mounting holes on sides. Marked the center post of the firewall on the forward edge. Removed the fuselage cover and drilled a 3/16 inch hole for the center post. Reinstalled the forward cover and mounted it with the center side screws. Laid a 10 lbs weight on top just behind the firewall to hold the cover on the center post. Installed the cowling by hanging it on the center post and mounting screws in the bottom mounting points on each side. Check the alignment at each top corner and installed an additional two 1024 screws in the fourth position up from the bottom on each side. Drilled a 3/16 hole in the top right side of the cover using the cowling as the template. Installed a 1032 by 3/8 inch screw and tighten. Drilled the next hole down on the right side and installed a 1032 screw. Repeated the process for the remaining holes on the right side. The left side remains for tomorrow.
