Worked the lower edge of the cowling starting on the left side. Used a forming tool to bend the lower edge around a 1/2 inch diameter back to the straight side and then put a 90 deg bend along the side. Remove the excess material. Used a steel rod with a smooth rounded end to form the junction of the front curve and the bottom curve. Repeated the processes for the right side. Mounted the cowling on the front of the fuselage and completed a detailed alignment. Verified the dimensions and clamped the sides to the fuselage. Drilled out each mounting hole on both sides of the fuselage. Removed the cowling and marked the excess material on each side. Removed the excess material with the power shears and rounded the bottom corners. Used a finishing wheel and smooth each of the edges. Mounted the cowling to verify fit and alignment.
