Brief Description:  Book End - first layup

I cut three 8" x 11" BID cloth plies with a 45 degree fiber orientation.

I mixed some wet slurry and coated the 2 applicable foam surfaces.

I then mixed some dry slurry and using a mixing stick I made a small radius with it in the gap between the 2 foam blocks.

Using plain epoxy, I layed up the three plies of BID. I immediately trimmed the excess cloth from around the edges with scissors and planned to use the electric scissors in 3-5 hours to trim around the foam edges.

After about 3.5 hours I returned to trim around the foam edges and found that the glass had cured too much and even the electric scissors wouldn't cut it at that point. Next time I'll stay closer to it and judge it by feel rather than time until I get a better handle on the timing. I plan on using a band saw to trim along the foam edges.
