Brief Description:  Fuselage Side Repairs

The shop temperature was 25 deg C and the humidity was 42%.

In the small section shown in image 1, one layer of UNI fiberglass was sanded away as it had bubbled up and not adhered to the bottom layer of cloth. The area was vaccuumed then epoxy was applied followed by a layer of UNI cloth cut to cover the sanded area and overlap with the non damaged area. This replacement cloth was cut and placed so that the fibers were in the same orientation as the cloth fibers that were sanded away. Epoxy was applied to wet out the cloth then peel ply was placed over top of the cloth and epoxy applied to the peel ply.

Next some flox was mixed and a syringe was used to apply flox into several areas between the top longerons and the fiberglass where there clearly wasn't enough flox during the original layup. Bricks were placed on top of the centre of both top longerons after the flox was applied.

The repairs are curing at 24 deg C.
