Brief Description:  Seatback - drilled holes and cut centre slots

The peel ply from the 2nd seatback layup was removed.

The drill press table was angled to 45 degrees, a piece of wood was temporarily clamped behind the hole locations, the seatback was clamped to the drill press table, and the 1" diam holes were drilled in the seatback. The holes follow the same orientation as the seat angle.

The centre slots for the fuel valve and map pockets were marked on the front of the seatback then cut out using an electric handsaw as shown below. For the top map pocket I first drilled a hole with a diameter larger than the width of the saw blade.

Next I'll sand all edges and fill a few air bubbles with epoxy then the seatback goes on ice til chapter 6.
