Brief Description:  Seatback - 2nd layup

shop temperature was 84 degrees F and humidity was 55%. The MGS 335 system was used.

The seatback was positioned on 3 blocks of foam scraps to raise it above the worktable so that the glass cloth could hang down from the layup and mate at the correct angle with the front layup.

2 bowls of micro slurry were used to cover the foam in preparation for the glass cloth. A squeegee and paintbrush were used to cover the foam. A clear transition between flox and slurry was maintained as best as possible. The back of the seatback and the sides were coverd with micro slurry but the slots were left alone as they will not be glassed.

The first piece of BID cloth was unrolled onto the foam piece and worked down by hand to fit over the back, the side and the tapered bottom. A second piece of BID was overlapped by 1 inch with the first piece and unrolled to cover the remainder of the layup. 2 bowls of epoxy were squeegee'd and stippled onto the glass. A third mixture was made to cover the peel ply and to use for stippling any air bubbles/corners. Peel ply was placed along the bottom taper, the sides (excluding the slots), and over the BID to BID transition point on the back of the seatback.

The layup was then trimmed with scissors.
