Brief Description:  More of the return trip

It only took me 3.5 days to make the entire trip from coast to coast. On day three of the return I was about at the half way point. This was all due to the tarps tearing and ropes breaking. I needed a new plan. So, instead of going to Home Depot I went to a farm supply store to get a set of really heavy duty canvas tarps. It was not that hard to find a farm supply store while I was in North Dakota. With the canvas tarps I started to make much better progress. But by the time I was in Montana the front canvas tarp was about to let go. From observing the front tarp in the rear view mirror I came to the conclusion the air passing over the truck and then hitting the vertical stab was causing the buffeting/flapping that resulted in the tearing of the tarps. I was now approaching a mental breaking point. The course of action I was contemplating was to hack saw off the vert stab and weld it back on at a later point. But, while considering that, a spark of divine inspiration come upon me. If I cut the tarp and let the stab go thru the tarp that would accomplish the same thing without resorting to hack sawing my new kit. The next time I stopped that is exactly what I did. I did this somewhere in Montana and did not have another tarp problem for the rest of the trip.
