Today was another one of those milestone days. Putting the bolts in the flap rod closes the book on the flap installation. It was no easy task trying to find the correct position to drill out the bolt holes. This area is not the most spacious place on this plane. I did buy two new drill bits just for this task and it seems to have been worth it. Only took about 5 minutes to drill each side. However that does not include the time finding the right combination of drill bit lenght, elecric or pneumatic drill, angle attachment or just straight drill. I ended up with angle attachment on pneumatic drill. Also it was about 100F in the hangar today and I was having to wipe up sweat pool that was collecting on bottom skin. Getting the nut on the outboard bolt was a little tricky as well. But it was a very satisfying feeling to get this part completed and watch the flaps move up and down!
