Brief Description:  Canopy Frame

Started this morning with call to Roger at Zenith to discuss top front skin fit as well as side panel and cover installation. The photo guide does not agree with the plans and according to Roger either way I wanted to install it was ok. Problem solved. We also discuss canopy installation techniques and engine choices. After our discussion, I started on the canopy tube frame. I tried to do it as show on homebuilthelp video but it did not work very well for me. So I separated the roll over frame from the rear tube frame and installed the rollover frame by itself. This worked out ok. Then I moved on to the rear tube frame and aligned it so I could cut the bottoms of the tube frame. I used an L angle to get proper alignment and made other numerous measurements to make sure everything was centered and square. Then I clamped the rollover frame ot the longerons and attached the mounting bracket shown below to ther rear tube. Tomorrow I will start with the front canopy rear tube frame and see what else I can get done. So far so good!
