A few months ago, I installed a cup holder in the instrument panel only to find that it interfered with the control stick. So, after thinking it through, I came up with another location for it. The cup holder will mount under the panel. Using some angle iron, I was able to construct it so is mounts back from the front of the panel and is out of the way of the control stick. Cutting the groove in the aluminum angle iron turned out being a bear. I finally used my giant reciprocating saw to do the cut. I started using a jig saw and the aluminum kept clogging up the blade. The reciprocating saw did quick work of the cut and worked pretty darn good.
